A social media (TikTok) celebrity was shot dead by three unidentified gunmen on Tuesday in Delhi. A 27-year-old Mohit Mor, a gym trainer, and a fitness enthusiast had half a million followers on popular video-sharing app TikTok and would recently upload fitness videos on his TikTok and Instagram profiles.
Mohit, who regularly visit a gym in Najafgarh, was at the photocopy shop nearby to visit a friend at around 5 pm on Tuesday when he was murdered by three unknown gunmen.
Mor was sitting on a sofa at the shop when the incident occurs in which three unidentified men, who were on a bike, come in the shop and pumped five bullets into him. A senior police officer stated by news agency IANS, however, said 13 bullets were fired at him.
One of the gunmen were captured on CCTV camera when he is leaving the scene of the crime. Two of the attackers’ faces were concealed with helmets, however, one of them could clearly be seen in the CCTV footage.
According to a senior police officer when Mohit was murdered, he fell on the sofa after that when he had been taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. A senior police officer was stated to a news agency IANS that “When Mohit Mor was busy talking with his friend inside the shop, three armed persons (unidentified gunmen) barged inside the shop and indiscriminately fired 13 bullets on him.”
Now, Police are investigating the reason behind the murder. Gang violence has not been lead out by them as a factor behind the killing. Further added Senior Police said that “Mohit Mor fell on a sofa kept inside the shop. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.”
Senior Police Officer also said that they are checking Mohit’s TikTok and Instagram accounts comments and call details to find any rivalry on social media. Officer said that “We are checking his Instagram and Tik Tok accounts comments and Call Details Record (CDR) to establish his enmity with anyone on social media that may help us to crack the case.”
Mohit Mor had over five lakh subscriber on TikTok and 3,000 followers on Instagram. He regularly posts his fitness videos on Instagram and on Tik Tok. “We are trying to identify the accused. Prima facie, it appears a case of personal enmity (conflict) and a money dispute,” the officer added. Police have registered a case under the applicable sections of the Indian Penal Code and a probe has been initiated. This incident occurred after two suspected criminals were killed in a shootout near Dwarka Mor metro station.
